Hi everybody. I know this has been a very stressful time for everyone with many of you not knowing if your homes were in danger from the Cranston Fire. Well the good news is not a single home was damaged nor was a person harmed during this major incident. Anne and I returned home yesterday to find our home, our neighbor’s homes, and Saunders Meadow itself untouched by the fire. Gary Johnson, who stayed with Suzanne and kept us all updated with their lively emails, drove me and Phil and Pam Howard up May Valley to look at the scars from the fire yesterday evening. The mountain itself is pretty banged up but by some miracle SMH Inc is unscathed. I also took a walk this morning up May Valley road then along one of the deer trails to South Ridge and saw where the firefighters turned the fire away from us near the dump, along May Valley Road, and along the ridge behind SMH where they really laid down a lot of Foscheck and even managed to get a dozer up there to create a fire break between us and the fire. I’m not even sure how they got a dozer up there as it is at least a 45° climb. Anyway, enough from me, I hope everyone got the emails from myself, Gary, Jon and Brian and I thank them for keeping me and all the rest of us updated. I’m going to post the map from Inciweb and some photos I took this morning from May Vally and from the ridge above SMH and a lovely one fron Gary and Suzanne welcoming us all home. If anyone has any information, maps, news or photos they would like to post to this web site please send the to me and I’ll include them, Thank you everyone, Pat Moloney.
